Strengthening local research to unlock the full potential of social entrepreneurship in Benin.
The project aims to strengthen the capacities of Beninese researchers in social entrepreneurship (SE) through training, networking and the production of rigorous research. It aligns with the priorities of the National Development Plan and the SDGs (decent work, reducing inequalities, partnerships).
Context
In Benin, SE remains little studied despite its potential for youth employment and poverty reduction. Local researchers lack support and recognition. This project fills these gaps and builds on a partnership between the University of Parakou, ICHEC, and the ANSES/EMES network.
Needs addressed
Strengthen the methodological, analytical and writing skills of Beninese researchers, create a national SE network and produce empirical data useful to decision-makers and practitioners.
Expected results
Enhanced research capacities, typologies of social enterprises in Benin, integration of SE into university programs, academic publications, policy recommendations and creation of a sustainable network.
